India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection for September stood at Rs 2.04 lakh crore, marking a 14.7% increase compared with September last year, according to the Union Finance Ministry.
The ministry said the rise was supported by growth in overall import revenues. The September tally also keeps collections above the Rs 2 lakh crore mark for the third consecutive month.
The breakup for September includes CGST of Rs 37,762 crore, SGST of Rs 45,363 crore, and IGST of about Rs 1.20 lakh crore.
Month-wise, GST collections were Rs 2.11 lakh crore in July 2026, Rs 2.00 lakh crore in August 2026, and Rs 2.04 lakh crore in September 2026.
Among states, domestic collections declined in 10 states, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim and Goa. However, Maharashtra reported a 15% rise to Rs 29,986 crore, while Karnataka recorded a 16% increase to Rs 13,884 crore.
