New Delhi: Indian shooter Neeru Dhanda will carry the national flag at the closing ceremony of the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, organisers said.

The Asian Games have been underway in Nagoya since September 19. As of October 2, India is placed fifth on the medal table with a total of 75 medals — 15 gold, 25 silver and 35 bronze.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, and Dhanda has been announced as the women’s contingent flag-bearer.

Dhanda won three medals in shooting — two gold and one silver — and had already returned to India. She is set to fly back to Japan tomorrow morning to take part in the ceremony.

Anjali Bhagwat, vice-president of the committee managing India’s Asian Games contingent, said the men’s flag-bearer will be decided tomorrow.
