A fresh complaint has been filed by a woman with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) against Veeramani, the founder of a granite company, who is currently under arrest in a POCSO case in Chennai.

Veeramani, 84, was arrested on August 29 in connection with a sexual assault complaint made by a minor girl. Officials said that, so far, four cases related to sexual assault of minor girls have been registered against him.

Prison officials said he is being housed under strict security and is provided only basic facilities such as a bed, a chair and access to newspapers. They added that he speaks rarely with other inmates and has limited interaction with prison staff.

According to officials, he is allowed to walk only for a short time along a CCTV-monitored corridor. They said only his daughter and a few lawyers have met him, and staff have been instructed to avoid unnecessary contact to prevent allegations of undue favour.
