A Singapore Airlines service scheduled to depart Chennai for Singapore around midnight was halted after a sudden engine-related warning during the take-off roll, according to reports.

The aircraft, carrying 322 people including passengers and crew, began accelerating on the runway when an alert alarm indicated a technical issue. The pilot immediately aborted the take-off and informed airport air traffic control.

The aircraft was then moved off the runway using a tow vehicle to a designated parking bay. Passengers were shifted to the lounge area while engineers carried out troubleshooting and repair attempts.

As the fault could not be rectified even by 5 a.m., the airline announced the flight’s cancellation. In line with procedures, passengers were accommodated in nearby luxury hotels.
