A Navy personnel, identified as Pradeep Mukherjee (31), has been arrested in Coimbatore on allegations of leaking sensitive information to a Pakistani intelligence operative.
According to the report, investigators believe he was lured through a “honeytrap” — a tactic in which a person is drawn into a romantic relationship and then coerced into sharing money, valuables or confidential details.
The woman involved has been described as a female agent linked to Pakistan’s intelligence network. Officials suspect the contact was used to obtain restricted information from the sailor.
He is accused of sharing key security-related details, including information connected to the Visakhapatnam naval base and the movement of ships. Police said an investigation is under way.
