A 32-year-old man was arrested in Delhi for allegedly stabbing his wife to death following a dispute linked to his alleged extramarital relationship, police said.

The accused, identified as Pradeep, lived in JJ Colony near Palam and ran a small biryani shop. He and his wife Sonia, 30, were married in 2017 and have two sons.

According to police, the couple had frequent arguments after Pradeep developed a relationship with another woman. On the evening of September 27, around 5 pm, another quarrel broke out, during which he allegedly attacked Sonia with a meat-cutting knife, inflicting severe injuries to her chest and neck before fleeing.

Police rushed to the spot and took Sonia to Indira Gandhi Government Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. A case was registered, and after a search operation, Pradeep was traced to Sector 20, Dwarka, and arrested on Saturday. Police said he admitted to the killing during questioning.

Pradeep, originally from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, was also working as a “dhol” musician in addition to running the biryani shop, police added.
