Minister Ramesh on Monday accused the DMK and AIADMK of lodging “false complaints” alleging distribution of money for votes, and said authorities should act if any such allegation is backed by facts.
Speaking to reporters in Tiruchirappalli, he said he did not wish to respond to accusations made without evidence. He also claimed his side did not rely on money, religion or caste in the previous Assembly election, and said they contested by trusting the people.
Ramesh further alleged that the DMK government, which was in power until the eve of the 2026 election with M.K. Stalin as Chief Minister, attempted to obstruct their campaign. He said criticism is part of democracy, and that they have the right to reject what he called unfounded charges.
Reiterating his stand, the minister said that if there is truth in any complaint about money being offered for votes, action should be taken, but maintained that DMK and AIADMK members were filing false reports.
