New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a clarification rejecting Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s allegations regarding changes to Form 6.
In a statement shared by Rahul Gandhi, he claimed that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had “illegally” and “arbitrarily” altered Form 6, alleging misuse of office to benefit the BJP. He also released an ECI order linked to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
Responding, the ECI said the post was misleading. It stated that an order for the voter roll Special Intensive Revision in Bihar was issued on June 24, 2025, with unanimous approval of the Commission.
The ECI added that the Supreme Court upheld the order on May 27, 2026, and also confirmed the undertaking form attached with Form 6 for the SIR process, according to the Commission’s statement.
