A video showing an autorickshaw being driven on a London road has gone viral on social media. The clip was shared by Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra on X.
In his post, Mahindra said the autorickshaw had “arrived in the UK” and added that it was a Mahindra vehicle. The sight of a vehicle commonly associated with everyday travel in India appearing on British roads quickly caught users’ attention.
Netizens responded with a wide range of comments, many of them humorous. One user joked that the driver should be reminded to use indicators properly and turn in the direction signalled.
Others made tongue-in-cheek remarks about “reverse colonialism” and imagined London auto drivers citing rain and traffic as reasons for not taking certain routes. Several users also called it a proud moment, while some quipped that fare disputes could be the next issue.
