A three-storey building in Seemapuri, Delhi, collapsed suddenly on Tuesday, triggering fears that several people may be trapped under the debris.
Fire and rescue personnel reached the spot soon after receiving information and began search-and-rescue operations at the site.
Officials said those pulled out with injuries have been shifted for treatment to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.
The incident comes weeks after a building collapse in South Delhi’s Satya Niketan, in which seven people died. Following that tragedy, authorities had demolished structures across Delhi that were found to be unsafe or poorly maintained.
The latest collapse has once again raised alarm in the city as rescue work continues.
