New Delhi: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said every FIR filed against him is like a “medal”, claiming he currently has 45 cases and that his “target” is 100.

His remarks came after Delhi Police registered a case against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, alleging they entered the Akashvani Bhavan premises without permission during a protest.

Speaking to reporters, Rahul Gandhi said MPs had wanted to meet the Chief Election Commissioner and the two other Election Commissioners, but they refused to meet them. He alleged the Delhi Police stopped them and told them they could not hold a protest there.

He said they would go to Jantar Mantar, the designated protest site, and sit there to “inform the country” that Gyanesh Kumar is not the legitimate Election Commissioner. Rahul Gandhi also said the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar must resign.
