The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2026 has been announced, with Canadian author Anne Carson selected as this year’s laureate.
The Nobel Prizes are awarded annually to individuals who excel in fields including Medicine, Chemistry, Physics, Literature and Economics.
After the prizes for Medicine, Physics and Chemistry were announced earlier this year, the Literature award was revealed today.
The citation notes that Carson is being honoured for a courageous and innovative body of work that engages in a simple dialogue with the classical tradition while creating new forms for contemporary literature.
