India marked Air Force Day on October 8, a day observed every year to honour the service and sacrifice of Indian Air Force personnel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the nation is proud of its “air warriors” and paid tribute to their bravery and commitment in safeguarding India’s skies.

The Indian Air Force is also known for taking part in rescue and relief operations during natural disasters, alongside its defence responsibilities.

President Droupadi Murmu extended heartfelt wishes to all serving personnel, veterans and their families, and said the Air Force has rendered exemplary service to the country.

In her message, Murmu said the courage of IAF personnel in defending the nation was demonstrated during “Operation Sindoor,” adding that their dedication remains a source of inspiration and pride.
