Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the goal of building a “Developed India” by 2047 is firmly within reach and vowed that it will be achieved. He was speaking in New Delhi at a “Developed India” pledge-taking programme.

Modi noted that India is progressing rapidly toward ambitions such as becoming a self-reliant nation, emerging as a global manufacturing hub, hosting the Olympic Games and reaching new heights in the space sector. He said the momentum and public enthusiasm behind these goals are “astonishing”.

The Prime Minister also reflected on completing 25 consecutive years in top executive responsibilities—13 years as Gujarat Chief Minister and 12 years as Prime Minister. He said he had never imagined reaching this position when he took oath as Gujarat CM on October 7, 2001.

Thanking people for their continued support and blessings, Modi said he bows before them and also expressed gratitude to NDA alliance leaders. He said elections—whether Assembly or Lok Sabha—gave him repeated opportunities to serve, and he paid respect to democracy and the Constitution.

Modi added that even his political opponents helped him understand the strength of democracy. He said every experience over the 25-year journey taught him lessons, and stressed that his focus has always been on duty rather than personal ambition, crediting the people, alliance partners and BJP workers for the milestone.
