From a remote village to a wider classroom
Yashoda, from a remote village in Uttar Pradesh, has been teaching English through YouTube and Instagram videos. She has studied up to Class 12 and uses short online lessons to reach learners beyond her locality.
Reprimanded at home
According to Yashoda, her husband became angry and scolded her after noticing her recording videos while she was working in agricultural fields. She shared her disappointment about the incident.
Film industry recognition
After one of her videos surfaced online, Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra publicly appreciated her efforts. Actors R. Madhavan and Abhay Deol, along with actor Mrunal Thakur, also praised her.
“I don’t even have a TV”
Yashoda said she does not have a television at home and does not follow celebrities. She added that she learned about the appreciation only when her students began telling her about it, calling the moment deeply touching.
