Arrest following complaint
Zafar Siddique, who was serving as DSP in Paramakudi, has been arrested by the CB-CID after his wife filed a complaint alleging rape.
Background and allegations
According to the complaint submitted to the DGP, the wife alleged that Siddique had links with multiple women and that she was subjected to harassment and torture.
Suspension and remand
Based on the complaint, Siddique was placed under suspension. CB-CID officials arrested him on Tuesday night, and he has been lodged in Vellore Central Prison.
Investigation ongoing
CB-CID police said the investigation into the wife’s allegations against the DSP is continuing.
