The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy rainfall at a few places in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday (Oct 9), along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
According to the bulletin, heavy rain with lightning and winds of 40–50 kmph may occur in the hilly areas of Coimbatore and Tirunelveli, and in Nilgiris, Theni, Tenkasi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Kanniyakumari.
Moderate rain is also likely in parts of Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Karur, Namakkal, Tiruppur, Erode and Salem.
For Thursday (Oct 10), heavy rain is expected at a few places in the hilly areas of Coimbatore and in Nilgiris and Theni. Moderate rain with thunder and gusty winds is likely at isolated places in Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanniyakumari.
