Chennai: Following the by-election results, Minister Nirmal Kumar said the outcome was a public endorsement of Chief Minister Vijay’s four months of governance. He thanked voters and said the government would continue as an administration focused on change and good governance.
Nirmal Kumar alleged that two rival parties effectively fought the by-election together, claiming their leaders praised each other during the campaign. He said voters understood this and asserted that only TVK candidates would win in the upcoming elections.
He also criticised EPS for the state of the AIADMK, alleging the party had been weakened under his leadership. Nirmal Kumar further claimed large sums were spent in the by-election campaign and said people were ready to vote for Vijay whenever elections are held.
Minister Sengottaiyan echoed the sentiment, saying voters had “proved” through their ballots that the state is seeing good governance. He cited major victories in Dharapuram and Maduranthakam and said TVK would win any future election in Tamil Nadu, adding that people trust Vijay and stand behind him.
