Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay extended greetings on the International Day of the Girl Child, observed to celebrate girl children and uphold their rights.
In a statement, he described girl children as a source of joy for families and said their birth brings love, compassion and strength.
The Chief Minister said it is society’s duty and responsibility to ensure girl children have a healthy life, quality education, a safe environment, equal rights and complete freedom.
He called on everyone to support girls’ dreams, stand by their progress and commit to building a discrimination-free, equal society.
