Thiruvananthapuram: Flight operations from Kerala to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries have been temporarily suspended following a fresh spike in regional tensions.

According to reports, Saudi Arabia-led coalition forces have been carrying out strikes against Houthi rebels. In response, a Saudi airport was attacked twice in quick succession, leaving 15 people dead.

In the aftermath of the incident, several countries have moved to halt flights to Saudi Arabia for the time being. Airport authorities in Kerala said services from the state to Gulf destinations have been cancelled from Oct 11 through Oct 13.

Officials also indicated that some services from Kochi connecting to Doha and Ras Al Khaimah have been cancelled as well.
