PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss’ recent remarks have triggered discussion after clips of his speech circulated widely on social media in the form of short videos.
In his comments, he praised Union Railway and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw—an ex-IAS officer—describing him as a key figure driving the Railways with speed aligned to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” goal.
Anbumani also took aim at what he called “reels politics”, noting how such content amplifies political messaging. He questioned why Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had not publicly asked people to avoid turning his speech into reels, while also urging his own party cadre to give importance to this format.
He further said that when tenders from the previous regime are cancelled, many works can get stalled, and argued that the government must act quickly to restart and complete such projects.
Separately, the same set of remarks touched on other public issues, including allegations of waste dumping at state borders and a note on the growing availability of 14-carat jewellery in the market, which contains 58.3% gold mixed with other metals.
