Saudi Arabia reported a fresh attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, a key city in the kingdom’s oil-rich Eastern Province, triggering renewed tension across the Gulf.

The incident comes amid escalating clashes between Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen and the Saudi-led coalition. In recent days, the Houthis had launched repeated missile and drone strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Those earlier attacks reportedly killed 13 people, including an Indian national, and injured more than 300. Before the latest incident, the Houthi forces had also issued warnings urging people to avoid Saudi airports and telling aviation staff and passengers to remain on alert.

In a statement, Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority said the Dammam airport was attacked and that inspections and damage assessments were being carried out. No official details on fatalities or injuries from the Dammam attack have been released so far.
