INDIA bloc parties, led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, continued protests in Delhi alleging that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar acted in a manner favourable to the BJP on issues including SIR and alleged vote theft. Police detained the protesters during the demonstrations in recent days.

A few days earlier, the leaders submitted a representation to the President. On Monday, they planned to meet Chief Justice of India Suryakant in Delhi to hand over a petition.

However, the Chief Justice declined to meet them and advised that they file a petition instead of submitting a memorandum. Despite this, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mamata Banerjee, Tejashwi Yadav and other INDIA bloc leaders proceeded in a march towards the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, members of Rahul Gandhi’s legal team met the Supreme Court Registrar. They said they intended to file a petition in person regarding the complaint against the Election Commission and requested additional time to do so.
