Minister Rajmohan on Sunday said other political leaders should learn from Chief Minister Vijay’s “civil politics”, citing the Chief Minister’s conduct and speeches at recent public events in Chennai.

Referring to a programme attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajmohan said Vijay spoke as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and articulated the state’s rights and concerns. He also pointed to an earlier event where Vijay, as the leader of the TVK party, held a conversation with Rahul Gandhi, describing it as a platform for “friendship politics”.

Rajmohan said Vijay raised issues including river-water interlinking, the demand for Tamil to be used as a language in courts, and the release of ₹5,000 crore for school education. He added that the Chief Minister has consistently carried this approach to every stage and every day.

The minister further claimed that corruption in public welfare works has been curbed to an unprecedented extent, enabling tenders to be taken up and projects to move faster. He said this was only a beginning and that more schemes would be completed and dedicated for public benefit.
