New Delhi: Union minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday alleged that the Congress party wants to weaken India’s constitutional framework and democratic institutions.

Speaking on the issue, Rijiju said protest is a right of every citizen, but added that openly abusing government officials is condemnable. He claimed the Congress has “lost its direction” in recent times.

The minister also remarked that the party could rebuild its strength only if it had a committed leader who does not focus on celebrating holidays. He further alleged that the Congress’ next target would be the judiciary.

Rijiju said forces “against India” are coming together, and asserted that patriotic Indians would also unite in response.
