Four professors from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, have been featured in the annual list of the world’s top 2% scientists.
The ranking is released each year by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, based on global research impact and citation performance.
Scientists are selected using multiple indicators, including citations received for research papers, the h-index and the hm-index. This year’s list covers researchers across 20 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields.
The TNAU faculty members included are officiating Vice-Chancellor Ravindran, former Director of Research Subramanian, Head of the Department of Agricultural Microbiology Sivakumar, and Professor Janakiraman from the Department of Agricultural Crop Physiology.
Researchers noted that the recognition reflects the university’s research strength, pointing out that TNAU had two names in the list last year, while four have been included this year.
