Mumbai: Senior IAS officer Tukaram Munde has said he has not been transferred from his post as Commissioner in Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA), amid reports suggesting he had been moved out.

The clarification came after Munde was appointed as secretary to a high-level committee formed to restructure the Maharashtra Public Service Commission, triggering speculation that he had been shifted from the food safety role.

In a social media post, Munde stated that he continues to serve as the FDA commissioner and that the department’s campaign against adulterated food and substandard medicines is ongoing.

A 2005-batch IAS officer, Munde has been transferred more than 25 times during his 21-year career. He reiterated that his uncompromising approach would continue regardless of transfers.
