AIADMK has sent a legal notice to Minister Nirmal Kumar, accusing him of spreading defamatory statements about the party’s general secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS).
The notice follows Nirmal Kumar’s allegation that EPS was attempting to seize AIADMK’s assets. AIADMK strongly condemned the remarks and termed them baseless.
According to the party, the legal notice was issued on behalf of AIADMK whip Agri. Krishnamoorthy. It states that the minister made unsupported accusations against EPS.
The notice demands that Nirmal Kumar withdraw the remarks and issue an apology within seven days. Failing this, AIADMK has warned it will file a defamation case in court seeking Rs 1 crore in damages.
