A boat accident in Bihar has left at least 10 people dead after a vessel capsized in the Ganges river in the Hajipur region.
According to preliminary information, around 15 to 20 people were on board, with many believed to be children. The group was returning to their native place by boat after attending a mourning event.
The boat reportedly overturned suddenly in the middle of the river, throwing passengers into the water. Several people drowned, and officials fear the death toll could rise as others are still missing.
Police, the State Disaster Response Force and local residents have been involved in rescue and relief efforts. The state government has said the operations have been expedited.
