Tensions continue in Saudi Arabia as Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels have been targeting the kingdom, according to reports. An attack at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport left 12 people dead, including an Indian national, and injured 11 Indians.
Saudi authorities have announced that King Khalid International Airport will remain closed until October 17 for security reasons. The closure has disrupted flight services.
In view of the situation, the Indian Embassy has issued advisories for Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia. Those planning to return to India have been asked to consider travelling via flights from nearby Gulf countries such as Qatar and Bahrain.
For assistance, Indians have been asked to contact the embassy’s 24-hour control room at +966-1 1-488469 or via WhatsApp at +966-536216082.
The Indian Consulate in Jeddah has also issued similar guidance for Indian Umrah pilgrims travelling to Jeddah and Madinah.
