Tehran: Amid heightened tensions linked to the US-Iran conflict, attacks on cargo vessels in the Strait of Hormuz have been reported. The report also claims Iran has placed sea mines to target ships that stray from permitted routes.

In one such incident, a cargo ship identified as “GPS Bright”, linked to the United Arab Emirates, was said to have been caught in the mine-laden waters.

As a result, around 2,500 containers from the vessel reportedly sank into the sea. Items from the containers—including high-end iPhones and perfume bottles—were seen floating on the water.

Videos circulating on social media show people arriving in boats and competing to collect the floating goods, with the clips going viral online.
