Anbumani Ramadoss’ remarks describing “Chief Minister Vijay” as a suitable “pair” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi have stirred discussion in Tamil Nadu’s political circles. The comments, carried in a Dinamalar report, drew attention for their tone and the political messaging implied.
The report also reflects a broader argument around electoral arithmetic. It cites DMK’s claim that the vote difference between the May Assembly election (with alliance support) and a recent by-election is only about 6,000, suggesting alliances may not have delivered major gains.
In that context, the piece points to the presence of multiple parties in the alliance—including Congress, Muslim parties and Left parties—and raises questions about how much vote share individual partners, including Thirumavalavan’s party, would have contributed.
Separately, the report references observations attributed to the Chief Justice that children may drift into crime when they are not cared for and protected at the right time, and that parents must be alert. It also includes a view that whatever is provided by the system should be of good quality.
The remarks and the surrounding commentary have added to ongoing political sparring, with alliance politics and governance priorities again becoming talking points.
