Chennai: With Ayudha Puja and Diwali travel expected to peak in the coming days, the Tamil Nadu government has fixed fares for omni buses operating from Chennai to major destinations.

The decision was taken at a coordination meeting chaired by Transport Minister Parthiban. The discussions covered fare fixation for the festival period and operational arrangements for omni bus services from the Koyambedu and Kilambakkam bus terminals in Chennai.

Officials from the Transport Department, Police, and CMDA attended the meeting, along with representatives of omni bus operators, including association leader Anbazhagan.

Based on the outcomes of the meeting, festival-season fares have been set for omni buses running from Chennai to key cities, the authorities said.
