Air India has temporarily suspended its flight operations to Saudi Arabia until October 24, citing the prevailing situation in the region. The move covers services to and from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.

In a statement, the airline said both Air India and Air India Express will keep these routes on hold during the period. The decision comes as attacks by Houthi rebels have been reported in Saudi Arabia.

The carrier announced special options for passengers who had booked tickets before October 15. Travel can be rescheduled without additional charges to an alternate date between October 24 and November 10.

Passengers may also switch their itinerary to other destinations. Air India customers can opt for Dubai or Doha, while Air India Express passengers can change to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat or Sharjah.

Those who choose not to travel will be eligible for a refund. Air India said it is monitoring the situation and will assist affected passengers based on their preference; helplines have been shared for further support.
