Protests in the national capital Delhi led to disruption of daily life, drawing strong reactions from residents who expressed dissatisfaction over the inconvenience caused.
Amid the agitation, the protesting group claimed that removing the BJP-led central government was its sole objective. The developments triggered criticism and condemnation from various quarters.
Responding to the protest narrative, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju issued a statement on X, asserting that India is not Bangladesh and that the country’s youth are not “idiots.”
Rijiju said Indian students and young people are nation-builders who will not destroy the country. He added that genuine students are excelling by winning medals and contributing through skill development, innovation, start-ups and technology, while also serving as cultural ambassadors.
The minister also shared a video along with his post.
