New Delhi: Parties including the ‘INDI’ alliance and another group staged separate protests in Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, according to reports.
As part of the agitation, ‘INDI’ alliance leaders, led by Congress Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, marched towards the Supreme Court. Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar also took part.
During the heavy crowding, Shivakumar reportedly tried to move closer to Gandhi, but was pushed aside. In the commotion, he later realised that the wristwatch he was wearing was missing.
The watch, said to be worth around Rs 3 lakh, was reportedly a gift from former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. It was unclear whether it fell due to the jostling or was taken, and Shivakumar could not search for it amid the crush.
