New Delhi: Starlink, the satellite internet venture led by US entrepreneur Elon Musk, has said it is ready to provide secure internet services in India, subject to government approvals.

The statement comes amid a public exchange involving Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani. Musk had earlier criticised Reliance, alleging it was trying to block Starlink’s entry into the Indian market.

Reliance responded that it has never feared competition, but maintained that any company operating in India must follow the country’s security laws and policy framework.

In a subsequent social media post, Starlink said it is prepared to deliver high-speed satellite internet in India and noted that it has worked closely for more than five years with Indian regulators, industry stakeholders and telecom companies.

Starlink also said it has built dedicated in-country network infrastructure, including gateways, to handle customer internet traffic securely, and that these systems have been set up with the necessary government approvals.
