Residents in Chennai’s Velachery have urged the government to provide concrete solutions rather than “excuses,” saying they are affected during every spell of rain.
Referring to repeated flooding and disruption, locals said the area’s vulnerability is well known and questioned how approvals were granted despite it being identified as a lake area.
The comments were made in the context of heavy rain, with references to AGS Colony in Velachery.
The video report also mentions Minister Kumar in connection with the issue, as residents pressed for accountability and lasting remedial measures.
