The Northeast Monsoon has intensified across Tamil Nadu, bringing widespread rain activity, according to an update shared by Dinamalar TV.
Chennai witnessed very heavy rainfall overnight. Parry’s Corner recorded 36 cm of rain, highlighting the intensity of the downpour in parts of the city.
Authorities have issued a red alert for Chennai, warning that heavy to very heavy rain is likely to continue through the day.
The alert and rain activity also extend to other districts including Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Theni, as the monsoon remains active.
