Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan has appealed to the public to take precautions during the northeast monsoon, especially when heavy rain is expected.
He said people should avoid unnecessary travel during rainy periods, as movement on roads can become difficult and risky.
The minister also advised households to purchase and keep essential items in advance, so daily needs are not affected when rains disrupt normal routines.
The message was issued as part of public guidance during the ongoing monsoon season.
