DMK leader M.K. Stalin has launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Vijay through a social media post, alleging that murders and drug-related crimes are continuing due to administrative negligence in Tamil Nadu.
Citing recent incidents, Stalin referred to a case in Dindigul where a man who had signed bail at a police station was later murdered in front of his wife. He said he had earlier questioned whether offenders released on bail were being monitored, and claimed another killing in Sivaganga showed that no effective steps were being taken.
He also mentioned the killing of a rowdy named Madan, who had been arrested in a murder case and later released on bail, alleging police negligence. Stalin further pointed to a case near Perundurai in which a nurse was abducted, sexually assaulted and murdered, adding that the body was found only after five days.
Stalin alleged that drug smuggling involving party functionaries of the ruling side was on the rise, citing arrests in Vedaranyam in a ganja case and another arrest of a functionary accused in a meth-related case. He questioned whether police were unable to act or had ignored the matter because those involved were linked to the ruling party.
Urging action, Stalin said controlling narcotics required the Chief Minister to first keep his own party members in check and ensure the police department was under his direct control. He accused the CM of holding the portfolio only in name and called on him to “give up rest and take charge of your department.”
