Tamil Nadu is likely to see spells of heavy rain from today until October 25 as the northeast monsoon has set in, according to an IMD weather update.
The state has already been receiving widespread rainfall across several districts since the onset of the season.
Meteorological conditions over the Bay of Bengal are contributing to the forecast. A cyclonic circulation is prevailing over the southwest Bay of Bengal, along with a low-pressure trough extending up to the northwest Bay.
Officials indicated that these systems could sustain enhanced rainfall activity over the next several days, and residents are advised to stay alert to local weather updates.
