RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday stressed the need to regulate content released on OTT platforms, saying young people often consume and believe such material without sufficient scrutiny.
He made the remarks while addressing a Vijayadashami event held in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Bhagwat said India is a country of diversity and that accepting and protecting this diversity is part of the nation’s cultural tradition.
Referring to activities held over the past year as part of centenary-related programmes, he said the Vijayadashami gathering marked the culmination of those events. He also said India is emerging as a major growth story on the global stage.
Bhagwat urged the next generation to carry forward the vision of a “developed Bharat,” and cautioned that power struggles can lead to destruction. He also said speaking about building an empowered Hindu society is not, in his view, contrary to national unity.
Emphasising unity, he said all Indians are one and that whatever people possess belongs to India, regardless of what the country gives or does not give in return. He added that the RSS’s work over the past 100 years has aimed at creating awareness among the public.
