Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend Dussehra celebrations in Delhi on Sunday, prompting authorities to step up security and impose traffic restrictions in parts of the capital.

The event is being organised by the Ramlila Committee in East Delhi. Officials have confirmed and announced the Prime Minister’s participation.

Organisers said around 10,000 people are expected to attend. Entry will be allowed only for those holding official passes.

Delhi Police have implemented traffic curbs linked to the programme, which will remain in force from 5 pm to 8 pm.

As part of the security arrangements, about 2,500 police personnel have been deployed, with central paramilitary forces also conducting patrols.
