Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has floated a proposal for trilateral talks with US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
The conflict, which began with Russia’s military campaign against Ukraine, has continued for more than four and a half years. Despite multiple efforts, the war has not come to an end, with both sides continuing to carry out attacks.
Reports say Putin raised the idea with Trump during a recent phone conversation. He is said to have indicated readiness for a three-way discussion focused on bringing the war to a close.
According to the reports, Putin suggested the meeting could be held on November 18 and 19 on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit scheduled in Shenzhen, China. Ukraine has not been invited to the proposed talks.
