BrahMos missiles, developed under an India–Russia joint venture and manufactured in India, have drawn heightened international attention following the reported success of “Operation Sindoor” against Pakistan.
In an interview to India Today, BrahMos Aerospace CEO Jayteerth Joshi said demand in the global market has increased after the operation. He stated that the missile precisely hit Pakistani air force bases, a performance that has been widely discussed internationally.
Joshi said BrahMos is designed to evade enemy radar and strike targets with accuracy. He added that after Operation Sindoor, the missile has emerged as one of the most impactful systems in global defence discussions.
He also noted that during the confrontation with Pakistan, India’s three services were prepared with BrahMos, which can be launched from land platforms, warships and fighter aircraft.
Joshi said work is progressing on a next-generation BrahMos missile. He added that, as per the agreement with Russia, the company is ready to supply the missile to Russia’s armed forces and that discussions are underway.
