A tense rescue unfolded in Zhangping city in China’s Fujian province after a child was found hanging from the window of a 12th-floor apartment. A video of the incident has been widely shared on social media.
According to reports, the child climbed past the window at a time when no one was at home. The child’s head became trapped between the window grill bars, leaving the head and hands inside while the rest of the body dangled outside.
Neighbours rushed to help on noticing the situation. Two people supported the child from below by holding a stool up to prevent a fall.
Rescue personnel then entered the apartment and safely pulled the child back in through the window. The seconds the child spent suspended in mid-air left onlookers shaken.
