Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again voiced displeasure over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, and has now turned his attention to another prestigious honour — the Pulitzer Prize.

Speaking at a gathering of Republican supporters in South Carolina, Trump said he had not received either the Nobel or the Pulitzer. He added that he believed he should have won a Pulitzer for his writing.

Trump also criticised journalists who won this year’s Pulitzer for reporting on investigations related to Russia. He alleged that their reports were untrue and accused them of publishing misinformation.

The Pulitzer Prize is among the United States’ top annual awards recognising excellence in journalism, arts and literature, with Columbia University overseeing the selection process.

Trump has published around 20 books under his name on business, politics and strategy. His first book, The Art of the Deal, was released in 1987, and several of his books were produced with the help of other writers.
