The United States Postal Service (USPS) has released a special postage stamp to mark Diwali celebrations this year.

The stamp features an intricate rangoli artwork created by Indian-origin artist Sangeeta Bhatada, who has been living in Houston for a long time. She has been drawing traditional rangoli designs for the past 30 years.

According to the report, Bhatada designed the rangoli motif specifically for the Diwali stamp.

The stamp was unveiled at a function held at the Indian Embassy in Washington.

This is the second time the USPS has issued a Diwali stamp. The first such stamp was released in 2016.
