Anbumani Ramadoss’ recent remarks have triggered fresh political chatter, including questions over whether BJP leader K Annamalai is emerging as a key opponent for TVK.
In his comments, Anbumani said he had heard that residents in Delhi were growing weary of protestors, and noted that traders had already approached the Supreme Court claiming their businesses were being affected. He warned that even if protestors are young, disrupting the daily lives of ordinary people could provoke a public backlash.
Referring to Union Minister Rajnath Singh’s earlier statement, Anbumani alleged that certain parties and groups function as “foreign agents,” arguing that their background indicates an intent to undermine India’s democracy and seize power. He added that developments in the coming months would reveal what is unfolding.
Anbumani also made pointed remarks about Annamalai, including a sarcastic reference to keeping an Innova vehicle “ready,” and commented on Annamalai’s reported travel to Vietnam. He suggested that when protests spiral beyond control, Annamalai tends to make a “great escape,” and said such episodes reflect declining patience and respect for fellow citizens.
